Who is an Amway IBO

The Amway IBO works itself through countless countries and reputes itself for that. An IBO has the right to purchase and sell Amway products such as Artistry, Nurtilite or Xs. However, he won't be a salesman going door-knocking to find new consumers. He will go door-knocking, but for "partners" And as he recruits more partners, he gets a bonus on his check every month. Essentially, a tweaked pyramid scheme. Are you willing to become an Amway IBO? Then there are few pros and cons you will have to consider.

PROS:

1. You get to be your own boss:

The I in IBO stands for independent. An IBO is not related to Amway as an employer. He can retain the contract as long as he wishes to and terminate it whenever he wants to. Since he is independent he can choose who he wants to work with or not.

He can also decide when he wants to go to work (if at all). The Amway IBOs are ranked. The higher number of "partners" the higher rank. The higher rank, well, the less you have to work to earn your money.

2. You get to work with experienced people:

When you first enter Amway you will be assigned a mentor who will guide you. The mentor will flow you through the payments, policies and methods required to become a successful entrepreneur.

There are experienced people who usually deliver speeches on how they got to where they did. Amyway IBO group (BWW) also hosts trips to DC so that you can listen to these speakers, and let them inspire you to do even better.

3. You change as a person

After becoming an Amway IBO you really do change as person. You become bolder to approach people and make decisions for yourself. You start to dream that you will be able to become like the other leaders who made money from this system. You become more hardworking to survive in the competition. And well, that sounds good because that's only the good side of it.

CONS:

1. It is a pyramid scheme

Amway Pyramid Structure
Amway has been taken to court multiple times and they won because their lawyers said Amway technically isn't a pyramid scheme. In a pyramid scheme the people sell the products to each other but in Amway the IBO's themselves consume the product, hence it really isn't a pyramid scheme.

Yeah, right. When you get in here people will tell you, you can become the person at the top, but honestly you will be the person in the gray and will take a long time to become someone in the red.

2. Brainwashing, does it exist?

Well in Amway it kinda does. When you enter the company they will tell you can exit whenever you want. Except, they wont let you. Amway has these lectures from people who made it to make you feel like you can make it too. Well, there's nothing bad about that right? Think about it, why would they want you to leave?

These people receive money from you. Amway says they believe in team building when the IBO organization is centered around money. They tell you all the money they have, how many clothes they have, how many places they live in. They tell you about mantras that you could honestly get from other books. If that sounds like you then do it, if not then don't.

3. You change as a person

Change is a dual edged sword. You change as a person in bad ways too. You become materialistic. When talking to people you are always thinking about how you can bring them to Amway, and that's a horrible feeling. When talking to people you put on a facade so that they can come to Amway and help YOU get rich.

You have to pay as much as 155-160 dollars per month and that puts a toll on your family, especially if you are in college. And you'll have to stay out late at nights and sometimes go out early in the morning too. You'll have to wait in trains to talk to people. Yes, it sounds challenging and maybe you like a good challenge. But are you sure there aren't better paths open for you?

CONCLUSION:

If the pros and cons both suit you then yes you should go for it. If you already have a part/full time job and you would like some cash on the side Amway could be for you. However, if you are a college student or don't have much money then this probably isn't for you.
